2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password.
Hot Tub & Device Data
We collect operational data from your connected SpaGen hardware, including water chemistry readings (ORP, pH, salinity), temperature, relay states, system uptime, device firmware versions, and connection status. This data is used to provide the core monitoring and automation features of the platform.
Water Chemistry Photos
When you use the test strip photo analysis feature, images you capture are uploaded to and stored on our servers. These photos are processed locally on our servers using computer vision software to estimate water chemistry values. Photos are retained as part of your water chemistry history and are linked to your account.
Push Notification Tokens
If you enable push notifications, we collect and store a device push token provided by Apple (iOS) to deliver alerts and notifications you have configured. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
Usage & Log Data
We automatically collect log data when you interact with the service, including your IP address, device type, app version, features used, and timestamps. This is used for security, debugging, and service improvement.
Dealer Relationship Data
If you link your account to a dealer, that dealer will be able to view your account name, contact information, and hot tub data for the purpose of providing service and support. You can unlink a dealer at any time from within the app.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our web portal to maintain your session and remember your preferences. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
Third-Party Credentials
If you connect a Gecko spa pack, you may provide Gecko In.Touch credentials. These are stored encrypted and used solely to retrieve your spa sensor data on your behalf.

- Provide, operate, and maintain the SpaGen service
- Authenticate your account and maintain session security
- Analyze test strip photos to estimate water chemistry values
- Send push notifications and system alerts you have configured
- Share relevant account and hot tub data with dealers you have linked

4. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
- Linked dealers — if you choose to link your account to a dealer, that dealer can view your account and hot tub information for service purposes
- Service providers — hosting and infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations
- Legal compliance — when required by applicable law, regulation, or valid legal process
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to continued privacy protections
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Sensor history, chemistry readings, and water chemistry photos are retained for up to 12 months on the standard plan. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the app (Settings > Account > Delete Account) or by contacting us.
6. Your Rights
Under applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and Alberta PIPA), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated personal data — available directly in the app under Settings > Account > Delete Account
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing
- Unlink a dealer at any time from within the app

7. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed passwords, encrypted third-party credentials, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
SpaGen is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
